Jennifer Browning is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor offering counseling services in; trauma, marriage and family, grief, depression, anxiety, survivors of physical and sexual abuse, adolescents, and adults. Jennifer supports clients using a systemic and solution focused approach. To do this she looks at the entire system in and around a client’s life, gathers information, and then a team approach is used between client and counselor to create the best environment and solutions for healing.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, Jennifer took a couple years off from school to work. During that time she realized she needed to continue her education to help make the kind of changes in people’s lives that would assist them in living a happier and healthier life. She went on to Northwest Nazarene University to get her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling, graduating in 2006. Since that time Jennifer has received her endorsement as a Nationally Certified Counselor, became endorsed as a Registered Supervisor in the State of Idaho, and is Part 2 trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization (EMDR). Jennifer serves on several local committees and hopes to make an impact on health services in Idaho.
Brian Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor, providing services to individuals, couples, and groups. Brian believes personal change is possible and valuable in their lives. Brian uses an emotion focused approach, as put forth in the work of Dr. Les Greenberg, and has received formal training in Dr. Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. He believes that people are agents of their own positive change, and that many are unaware of how emotions relate to their thoughts and behavior. Brian's clinical practice has taught him to respect the experience, worldview, and value system of others without imposing his own.
He has over 1000 hours of clinical experience helping clients with anxiety and depression, trauma, grief and loss, major life transition, issues with anger, and other emotional difficulties, and he is LGBTQ affirming. When he works with couples, the focus is on building a safe and secure relationship, rather than “fixing” the problem or mediating whatever the fights are about.
Brian is a graduate of Idaho State University’s Mental Health Counseling program, and a member of American Counseling Association, Idaho Counseling Association, American Mental Health Counseling Association, and is President of the Idaho Mental Health Counseling Association
He looks forward to joining with you in your journey of positive change.
